I love the changing of the seasons, even into winter, but I'm always glad to see spring after a bit.

Re: Thanks, Sam. I'm glad your alysseum is thriving. Everything's

prettymonochromatic in New York now.  I'll be counting the days with you, incidentally. - Bob

It is a brown and barren world where I'm at now too! And, when I read of your choice blooms I instantly thought of how lovely my alyssum is this time of year against a fall backdrop! This imagery was exquisite in all facets! sam

Re: Thanks, Jay. The color trapped in all those ironbound tulip

bulbs really grabbed me. I always felt that that first real frost really spelled the end of something. - Bob

Re: one has to applaud every word written here because you have

November's a great topic -it's the real transition into winter.  At the beginning of it, youcan still sink a shovel into the ground, but not at the end.  They start playing carols, Santa comes in the Macy's parade, Thanksgiving night you know what's coming next, leafwatching is over, etc. - Bob

one has to applaud every word written here because you have

described November to perfection. Well done.

Superb!  The imagery is so exact and well executed that the effect is unavoidable

Re: High praise, CC! Thank you. It started as something far more modest,

but I kept whittling, pruning, and tweaking till it said pretty much what I wanted. - Bob

Re: Thanks. It;s one of those gardening events I'd always tried to write

but couldn't.  Somehow, words were there this time. - Bob
