What a beautiful child.
I never really knew what the term "pack rat" was until I found out the hard way that a lady I knew was an honest-to-goodness hoarder. I can't imagine that beautiful-faced brother of yours kept anything that wouldn't do someone some good.

I think it's time for me to sort and pitch a bunch of my stuff.
Don't want my kids speculating about why I held onto so much crap all this time.

I am just the opposite though my family holds your view. I have the habit of getting bags and cleaning up and out for the pak rat! CONFLICT!! I understand!!

It is funny some little things we just can't give away , but you did well sorting it at one go. A nice remedy to see your grandchildren so full of life, it all helps in the healing process

Tao is just beautiful and I remember those baby arms around my neck
little hands patting me with love, kisses cuddles sleeping in my arms and the songs that we can still sing together, so silly no one else could understand the words. You are right, that is where the healing really begins...with the babies.

I remember when we had to clear out my paternal grandmother's house after she passed away. It felt so weird being in her house without her there and throwing away or giving away her personal belongings...I am glad to read that you are still able to smile.

I am pleased that you are progressing through your grief with great dignity! It has to be so very hard and yet you are able to see the good in it, too; a great testament to your courage and perseverance! When my BIL passed away we gave his clothes to the homeless shelter and in some weird way it is soothing! I suspect it comes from knowing that others are being helped in a time of loss, and thus a little bit of them lives on! I love pack rats for I am a bit of one myself, I find it tough to toss things away for I am of the same inclination as Bird, the minute I toss it I will find a use for it! And it has happened to me in the past so your Bro knew what he was talking about! Keep him in your heart and know that he loved you like a rock and nothing can change that! Hang in there I like the positive parts coming into vogue every day for you! And by all means get those hugs from the rug rats you so cherish and adore! And GO HABS! sam
