I agree, Pat_B. They write it because many people read it. For some reason, the majority of humans have never stopped getting off on the misery of others - it's been that way for ages i.e. the Romans making a spectacle of lions killing Christians. Excellent post! The guy who cleaned my chimneys was like your furnace dude; long explanation of what I should know about it. He showed me a pile of crud that 'came down from my chimney'...except it was very neatly all together and pretty square. He had brought it in in his bag and dumped it there to show how important his job was. Ha! I knew that trick already!

well written our Pat....I have been saying this to Wiley for hours....
they probe and push just for ratings....and what is it...titillating to the senses for sick people eager for more detail.
What is it with news these days....it is either Cain and his inability to comprehend what sexual harrasment is or the evil that has been happening at a football college.
Wonder how the tooth is and if the antibbiotics are working?
