I don't think I fully understand the damage done by debt, but I have a feeling it is very, very, difficult to overcome.

None of the candidates, Mr. Cain included, understands the damage done by debt. That damage is done regardless of who is issuing it, federal government, state government, local government, or private or public banks of whatever size. In particular, they fail to see that the issuance of pure fiat currency, i.e. United States Notes, makes all federal debt and balanced budgets unnecessary. They all miss the fact that we are exporting federal debt and thereby importing manufactured goods. It is the federal debt, not "cheating", that is allowing China to keep the yuan cheap and the dollar dear. It is the federal debt that is exporting jobs. We need to liquidate the federal debt with printed greenbacks.
