I can only imagine what a frightening time it was to have to have the sir raid drills and such! War is hell! sam

Well there were a lot of your guys here FS I don't think some had ever seen ice. We kids were sliding on the pavement and this GI thought he would have a go he slipped and broke his nose. He warned us then that it was dangerous.

Kabu a couple of years ago I had a reoccurrence of chilblains and could not get any ointment the chemists had hardly heard of the symptom

I am not sad that teachers can no longer hit children. Today it would

be called abuse. And those chillblains...oh how they itched and burned....

This poem reminds me of the American history that I learned from World War II through the end of the Cold War.
