- Go to Blanche Rothstein took herself off dialysis over a month ago.
Re: I'm so happy you told Blanche Rothstein's story here.
Thanks, Pat. The only thing she got tired of was dialysis. She was a sweet, sweet person. - Bob

I'm so happy you told Blanche Rothstein's story here.
I've grown tired lately, been feeling like lying down but now I'm gonna say "what would Blanche do?" to myself and get up and go. Maybe fake it till you make it can change my silly attitude. Love the poem. It's awesome!

Re: What a lovely tribute and poem, Bob!
Raye, when I say she took chances, I'm thinking particularly of the play Social Security in which she came on stage in bra and skirt - it fit the character perfectly and stopped the show. It was her own idea. Bold decision for an 85-year old woman. - Bob

Re: what a wonderful tribute you brought this artist back to life.
I have such vivid memories of her. She used to tell me I swallowed the ends of my sentences. I must have cleared up the problem by the time she directed us in the radio play Under Greenwood, because I asked and she gave a thumbs up. - Bob

What a lovely tribute and poem, Bob!
She sounds quite the special soul.

I have a lifelong interest in stage acting too and so badly wanted to see a Broadway play while in NYC over the summer. I was there for medical reasons and my breathing was awful (I had a wicked infection and the East Coast was having one of the worst heat waves on record) so wasn't able to do so. Someday I will.

Re: Boy, CC, that's her to a T! I was one of her favorite
"works-in-progress"( though sometimes that was hard to tell). I think it was because her memory was failing and so she'd laugh at my old jokes as if she'd never heard them before. One of my favorite pieces of Jewish wit from her was "Sleep faster! We need the pillow!" - Bob

Re: For the last 15 years or so she and Gordo moved
to a little upstairs apartment in the house they owned and let her daughter and her family have the rest downstairs. It was a very cozy olace with books, CDs, a laptop, and a bouncy Scotty dog. I didn't visit often
until she went to the hospital, sad to say. - Bob

Lovely tribute Bob those kind of people give their heart and soul to earnestly inspire others to be artistic.
