Re: Whisperer4U
Me too - it's funny how much of the past is a grey haze I remember little about.

Re: lionreign..its certainly true that time waits for no one...
wow thanks Rumor, I confess those images had not occurred to me, I chose those particular birds because they seem the harbingers of winter to me, as they flee the cold each year I know that another summer has past.

Just you wait lionreign, just you wait.
When one is 74 it flies even faster (if you can imagine that).

Re: sam444
I think it is something we are all guilty of at times. I know I have to remind myself to pay attention to now sometimes

its interesting that you chose the swallow and the swift as the birds in your poem...not sure if you did it on purpose or not, but I couldn't help thinking of how Time seems bent on swallowing us whole, and swiftly, with ho remorse or regard..

exactly right.....how the day flies by and next thing one know it is time
for supper and especially at this time of the year when the sun doesn't spend much time lighting our sky from now for the next four months.

I believe this to be very true; and I have to admit I am very guilty of wanting the days to pass! We are almost to November and my soldier has 10 weeks at the most left in Afghanistan! I will be so relieved when his tour of duty concludes! Then, I will be off to another hurry up and get here date so I can buy a house! And when all is said and done I will be wondering where the time has gone, just like the poem says I will be doing! Big events have a way of taking our precious moments away and we don't seem to enjoy the time in between them! Perhaps this is a good lesson for me to just relax and live in the moment I find myself in! Wonderful thought provoking poem! sam

I know where my day is going to go...into sweet dreams as it is now my bed time. I liked the flow of this poem, you have a way with this in much of your work, and like our days it too is soon past.

Well we certainly can't fault this one Lion. It is like tearing leaves out of a book. Perhaps if we were in prison it would appear longer.
