Re: Yeah, he's good, all right. He kind of sucks up everyone else's oxygen
in a scene.  I first saw him as a cowpoke in Lonesome Dove.  Angered, he grabbed something heavy, started to
attack, and had to be restrained.  It really looked as if there'd be mayhem if someone didn't grab him. - Bob

Re: nice one
Thanks, Shams.  I remember his saying once in an article that paying attention was a key part of his acting style.
I've heard that elsewhere  as advice to actors: don't be worrying about your next line.  Pay attention to what the other person is saying.  If you watch an audition, the pros have looked ahead to see what their cue is, but then  look up, watch, and react to what the other person is saying.  The rookies are just reading along.  Tommy Lee
Jones is always focused on the person talking to him.  It's not two people making speeches at each other. - Bob

Re:Your mention of Jaws reminded me of Jimmy Breslin's mafia
novel, The Gang Who Couldn't Shoot Straight.  The father always kept a dog as the family pet because he wanted
his kids to grow up in an atmosphere of teeth.

Re:I didn't know that about underwater construction. That WOULD
tend to sharpen your focus, wouldn't it! - Bob

I have to agree Bob Charlie Chaplin is more my era. Last film I saw was Jaws.

In this case I have to agree; after all his background is one that would have it this way! I always found it interesting that he did underwater construction, too! Plus the fact that he is one smart guy! sam
