Re: sam444
Thank you so much my friend.
If you are not familiar with that part of Lord of The Rings I would recommend it for you as it contains much of the best poetry and the cleverest writing of the whole book

Not at all, but they are related to Proudfeet. I think that the beginning of Lord Of The Rings (i.e. the parts missed from the films) would be the parts you would most enjoy, my friend. Particularly old Tom and the river's daughter

Re: WileyJohn
Thanks Wiley, Lord Of The Rings has been such a constant of my life I forget that not everybody's read it. Tom was the most fun of all characters

Great poem I had to work a,t so maybe I can help others that may be as old as me. LOL
Tom Bombadil is a supporting character in J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium. He appears in Tolkien's high fantasy epic The Lord of the Rings, published in 1954 and 1955. In the first volume, The Fellowship of the Ring, Frodo Baggins and company meet Bombadil in the Old Forest. He appears in The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, a book of verse first published in 1962, purporting to be a selection of Hobbit poems, two of which concern Bombadil.
