I don't think it has to be a particular sex, an absentee parent is worthless and the reason he got in your daughter's face is due to the fact that he knows he was the guilty party and it's easier to deflect that it is to take ownership! He should flat out be ashamed of himself, nothing but a dead beat dad in my humble opinion! sam

Lustor,
I think he has the "right" to give his opinion, just not the place. I think it's wrong. He should feel lucky she is in his life at all.

Broken families create a myriad of problems and fractured relationships.  There are excellent Dad as well as Mothers.  If only they could work as a team should  a marriage fail and consider the best interest of the children.  It's the children that pay the price.

I don't think that it is controversial...it is everywhere and of course all

circumstances are different. I was mostly a single Mum when my boys were little...oh I was married to their Dad but he lived his own life and it was always me and the little boys. Sometimes I would fight for him to do something with them and he would...they thought that he was great. I never even today told how I pushed their Dad to spend time with them.

I think what a mess it all is, and the children suffer.
It never seems to get any better does it.

I would imagine that the stats do support your view that there are more single mothers than single fathers.
