I think I've heard that bird language before too..
Kind of reminded me of someone/something crying out : "Cheap, cheap" lol. I saw a pale yellow feathered bird I had never noticed before in my yard not too long after hearing it.

I love the name of your turtle! I have not heard that sound but I do know I would not like to have a rattle snake in my yard! sam

I've heard a really welcoming sound
the sound of bell crickets at night, they tell me that fall is here.  now for the life of me, I can't remember what a kateydid is, I used to know... at least I know it sounds like a rattle snake!

Now I want to know what kind of a bird says 'eeek' so will do a search starting with hawks, as you suggested. I'm guilty of trying to figure out all the bird, bug, etc.,. noises around here, too.
