Like it or not one has to do it their way or they flat out won't pay! I would just get the representative and then work through their red tape to get it back in your name! If you are not careful they will select one for you and then it will be a big headache! I don't think they are idiots, they just follow the guideline! I know I have been down the road you are traveling so just get the representative. sam

Sitting in the office until someone does something is good advice.
But take a chill pill first. Prepare to be baffled by BS. I believe the Effing Idiots brick wall you ran into is a budget control device. If you get discouraged and just go away, they won't have to spend any money for your benefits.

In about 5-6 more months, I will be signing up for SS. Sure hope it isn't that hard everywhere or maybe just in your particular office?? Yes, go to the SS office and personally see someone. Write their name and number down (including their Ext. #) before you leave their office for future reference. Ask to see the supervisor of that dept. if you can but don't be on the defensive when you go in. The tone of your voice will get you farther if you are not too demanding;
but be firm!

Yes Taps our J.J. is a tad upset...... But seriously it is time to go sit
in their office and refuse to move until you get some sense from them. I have done it my friend....sat outside an office until i got what I wanted. Refused to go away.
