I didn't count by any means but just from reading it felt like perfect symmetrical meter, at least and insofar as cadence and rhyme for me! I think this poem is absolutely special. I couldn't help but think of 17th century English poets and yet I was drawn to to Robert Frost because he would say that it isn't poetry if it doesn't rhyme! So many, many facets to this poem! I would urge, urge you Lion to enter this for publication in a magazine or poetry contest! It's SUPERB! sam  Please don't let this one get buried in the annals of Blogit!
