Ha - even our Montreal Allouettes pull in a crowd, but not so big as the Canadiens. Montreal is a hockey town. I agree with you - most ordinary citizens can tell you more about their favorite sports figure than the local politicians. What does that say?

We only have the Utah Jazz here, but we spend some time in Denver and know of what you speak. I remember when the Bronco's had their first losing season in a long time years ago and they said that property values went down that year. I don't know about that, but the whole stadium is sold out and tickets on on a waiting list, and many times are left as an inheritance...the only way to go to a game is to buy your ticket on line from some one who isn't using them that game for double the price.

The CUBS impact Chicago, big time, whether they win or lose.

I echo sam's comment...
The Detroit Lions are already having a bigger impact on the city and environs, including Canada (Windsor and Essex County) than they have for years...and the regular season hasn't even begun yet!..

I totally agree with you! Even in Detroit, I root for Detroit, where the economy is horrible they still fill the stadiums! And I am so ready for football this, the Lions finally have something going! They won their last four games of the regular season and the their 4 preseason games! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought this could happen after going 0-16 in the regular season! GO Ravens, Go Lions, here's to a great year of football! sam
