I know I certainly appreciate the internet and the speed to get and receive information. I still enjoy the occasional card in the regular mail.

and on the other hand, during some disasters, specially man-made ones,
communication links are cut, thereby making it difficult to access one's folks in the disaster zone.

My Baltimore Sis was told to get out of the building at her work, when the quaking started, and told you might as well go on home. She went out and got in her car and got on her cell phone to send email messages of the earthquake before even starting her engine.

FSI, you're likely in for a not-so-busy weekend with that hurricane

I so agree; it takes very little time to get the word out and to check on it! Now your area is facing a powerful hurricane! Some 65 million people could be affected! It is going to be a long weekend so stay safe! sam
