The wood work in the house where I grew up was made of the red gum tree, the house was built in 1919.

Years ago, I actually thought that many of the phrases such as these were things someone simply made up for their own personal whim , pleasing themselves at the time. Knowing that they had a specific origin and reason for their utterances made them that much more fun to unearth. Your wish  is my command . . . more on the way!

With all of the writing projects I'm  currently involved with, I would love to compile all of these into a manuscript, but can barely find the time to post them  here! I just love to share things like this, things I think almost anyone can enjoy . . . or at least should enjoy.
