Absolutely, voice is everything. Listen to the well-known celebrities of the '30's, '40's and '50's, and then listen to the bulk of the so-called celebrities of today. There's no distinction to them whatsoever! Oh, and the greatest orator of all time ( in my opinion )? Orson Welles, of course!

I loved Jimmy Durante on radio.
No limelight, but he had the voice. To this day, the right voice catches me.
