I loved reading this.
It really took me back to what I loved about yesteryear...when out of the past came the thundering hoofboots of the great horse Silver on our console radio, and we could run wild and free in the woods or anywhere without mom worrying about child molesters and perverts (although there were a few of those around, even then).

I was feeling a similar sadness
when walking through the woods and fields last evening: where were the rope ladders and secret dens I remember from my own youth?
