I can remember having African violets in the house when Mom could see...

this house and brighten things up)

Re: african violets will grow and have babies if you find just the right amount
Kabu there is an association in USA of African Violets so they must be grown quite easily even if it is hot, I would still have geraniums in your postion Kabu not the ordinary reds and pinks there are some really pretty ones and you couild take slips along now keep them in small pots on the window sill indoors rather than the old plant. I would keep a look out at the garden centre.

Re:
Well Taps I have never had much success growing plants in the house but would be nice to a few flowers at the top of the stairs as reward for climbing them.

african violets will grow and have babies if you find just the right amount
of sun for them.
yes too late for me to have a hot house or whatever and i am planting more shrubs and less annuals with the future in mind. Some things will come inside for the winter, but don't want to over do it.

Well I didn't know what to buy from the flower seller ,but he was going into hospitable and suddenly I spotted this lone African Violet. So I have put it in a back window facing east on top of the stairs. I shall have to look up and see what the natural habitat is I am in disgrace left the freezer door ajar.
