How true!

Re:
mariposa, it's as though they look at an idle saw and are driven to put it in action!

My husband was a tree-faller, so I understand about men and trees.

Indeed they are wonderful. I am so thankful for all of the trees on my property.

The shade of a tree rates high among their many values.

I trim my trees! I can't imagine cutting them down because they really help keep my house cool in the summer and decreases the need for A/C! sam

Re: reasons
Wiley, I feel like crying just thinking about that. Our electric company seldom cuts down trees; they trim them to give space for the lines, then trim again and again as needed.

Well I'm a man who had to cut down 7 beautiful trees on my property and I cried for each one of them. I'd send you the whole story if you'd like as it appeared in the Toronto Sun. See, five years ago HydroOne in Ontario, forced me to install and pay for 2 worn out hydro poles on my property. The trees would have been a threat to my electrical power supply. Great post you wrote there.

Good idea - require a city permit to cut down trees even on your own property. I think I'll suggest this to our town board.

I have a niece and her hubby who own property in Sacramento, CA
and I found it interesting that in that city the trees are counted and one has to get city permission to cut down a tree even if it is on their own property. For quite a few years they had a beautiful oak tree in their yard. They named it Jason. Finally Jason became diseased and it had to be cut down but they had to have proper city permission before they could hire a tree removal company to do the job.
