Re: are things any better now, adnohr?
No Straighforward, but thank you for asking. It is only going to get worse. His pain is intense, and his time is limited. Though a little harder to come by because of his suffering, his smile is still there.

I have a feeling that you might have some trouble finding fresh okra there. It doesn't keep well for long and it grows in the heat of August in the Southern US. Frozen okra is only good for gumbo (which I'm not fond of). My parents grew their own and we always had it sliced into little rounds, rolled in a cornmeal mixture, fried in hot grease until crispy, and ate it like popcorn. My parents were still growing it when my sons were young and they were always excited when they brought us over a fresh batch for frying.

It helps me not to worry about you, and reminds me to pray for you and yours.

Should have read this long ago, but I assumed you weren't writing so passed on by, I'm sorry. No matter, you and 'Bird' are always in my prayers. Love to y'all.

I feel your presence hovering at Blogit. What a sweet angel you are. I am so amazed at how you and your brother are always there for each other and always loving each other with your smiles and glances and facial expressions and body language. It will be difficult for you when your "Bird" flies away and you can see him no more with your earthly eyes. But, I know that your hearts will continue to lovingly commune.

You can't knock that tough old Bird off his perch that easy. I am sending
you both love and prayers and lots of hugs and returning your smiles.

WOW! Poor Bird, he is having a time of it! And I love it that he is still smiling for that can be half the battle at times! Dang, where's a hockey game when ya need one, eh? Hang in there and try to get your rest, too! Thanks for the smile and hug and sending one back to you as I continue to pray for Bird! sam
