a really good post and well thought out and written.
I must say that I cringe when I keep hearing..."The Gov. should be doing something about...." Fund raising is a wonderful way to socialize and the end result is someone benefits in more ways than just getting money or food stamps.

Many thoughts come to mind . . .
There are three quotes that seem to fit this bill: "Am I my brother's keeper?" "The Lord helps those who help themselves," and "Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he can eat for a lifetime." The more the government thinks it's helping people, the more intrusive they feel they can become. But of course, the selfish and greedy don't help matters either. It's a system that may never be fixed. Here's a quote from Confucius that probably sums it up best: 'The power of love will never prevail until we can overcome the love of power!"
