Actually yes, I was remembering a time with my nephew and when his mother passed away at that age --- all her boys (times 3) were so devestated. That memory came to me so strong and I so remember that song --- LOVELY; and so neat you played for your children ~ 
- I looked up Janis Ian and thought I read she had passed away but it was Phoebe Snow - which surprised me I recall when I found that out.

I thought this was a marvelous journey that wonderful imagery to bring the story to life! I especially liked the reference to 17! It is such a transition year for most young people! The idea of 18 just around the corner and all the promise! When I read that part I was reminded of a song I played for my kids when they turned 17. And here it is by Janis Ian! Shelly

Rumor, I must admit, with my typical wordiness, I wanted to go round and round more and more with this but, really snipped it short! I hope I did that is... Ah, I love to write and sometimes it helps me (well really all the time) and this particular write brought forth an awareness - something I had forgotten for many many years.
