I thought of you and your tale today when I saw the news video of an elk rescuing a marmot from his watering tank. He observed the marmot floundering in the water and not able to get out. He looked around like he was trying to figure out what to do and then he gently picked it up with his teeth and lifted him out and set him on the ground. The marmot sat there for a moment and then shook the water off and ran out into the field.
