Sad is what it all is, everywhere. The sickness in Canadian politics is in the Senate where most of us want it abolished, they do NOTHING. Mostly men and women being paid off with a nothing job because some of them  are ex TV people that said the right things about the government in power.

Political activism and peace marches picketing to leave the uranium
in the ground until we at least knew more about it...the waste and what to do with it and so much more......women's equality and fairness for all, Children's rights and protection...women's refuges...I worked and supported and did it all.....now I am just tired as nothing really changes.

Wow Pat, you hit it head on!!

"So many reporters, TV viewers, et al, pointing their fingers and wailing "ain't it awful" because a man whose business it is to seduce and betray is caught doing it on a personal level."

Too tragically true - what can we do? Real independent candidates who believe in serving everyone, not just the rich and powerful, don't stand a chance of getting into office. I shudder at the thought of the r word and sometimes in my darker thoughts, I wonder if that is what we are spiralling toward.

If you feel like you're falling out of love with politicians now, the feeling can only grow worse as the election campaign progresses.
