Thank you, Bill 
I learned that about the theme when we recently rented, The Mary Tyler Moore Show. They had that in the extras. This week, we rented, The Dick Van Dyke Show. Another good, recognizable theme. Though done as an instrumental.

I didn't watch this when it originally came out, since, I was born in '68. Maybe later episodes. It's in our NetFlix. I'll give someone else the opportunity to answer. Will do the same about the theme.
