Oh food!
As soon as that appetite of yours demands that trip. Oh you can also do it for the sight seeing, but the food is something special hahahahaahh and I would always recommend the hawker fare over restaurant fare, simply due to the pricing and of course authentic Singaporean food comes from food cooked for the local taste. For the first time visitor, hawker centres might not look too appealing, but just ignore it and eat the food.

You should also try
Roti John. I just about died and went to heaven when I first had it. Roti John is basically ike french toast, but with a twist of its own. Istead of using sliced bread, a french loaf is used and the dish itself is not served as a sweet breakfast, but more like a savoury snack, as it is cooked with savoury ingredients, such as meat or fish and then served with a special sauce, made from scratch of course. Singapore and its sauces, especially their chilli sauce, end to make life long partners.

I definitely think I wouldn't have a bit of trouble finding something to eat there.
I probably would kill myself trying everything.
