This so reminded me of raising kids with animals; I always planted assuming a 10% loss! I was watching my son's Min Pin and he loved playing in the garden and flower beds and there wasn't any damage! WOOHOO! I love poems like this one take evoke memories! It really was never that upsetting for they were all growing together and a small price to pay for frolic in my opinion! sam
