Today being Memorial Day, that last stanza especially hits home...
With your kind permission CC, my well-respected friend, I'm sharing it with all my friends & family..well-done! - Ash

I'm reading over & over that last stanza...
such insightful description of re-incarnation, so misunderstood by many, especially in the West. Also, it reminded me of my dear late Mother, who died at the young age of 42 in complications after child-bearth. May her brave spirit be at peace wherever. Thank you my wise friend from the West ! - Ash

Re:
Well Justi I did not want to upset anyone who might have thought it referred to them. I thimk women get a rough deal at times, can't do much about it but suggest.

In some ways I look at this I see sadness. Another way is that sometimes the spirit needs to go away to those other memories to put them down forever and return to create new ones right on the spot... Look for the return. You are some poet.

Somehow this made me think of my Grandma Dena...she was the best!

I agree with Troosha.  There is sadness in this poem that I usually do not get from your work, but, maybe because of that, I absolutely loved it.  "Sadly, I knew that brave spirits sometimes need to die. To face the truth and be reborn and then know why. "  I wish I would have written that... Bravo CC!  xoxoxo

A little sad today - or at least that's what I drew from it.  But, as usual, beautifully done.

I adore this poem ChCh --- a penny for your thoughts - hmmm...and I'm rich after reading:  like the tide flows again always to where sweet memories reside. Such a beautiful thought you write here and of 'trust' - You're very wise, my Poet - Gardener Friend.  Good to read you ~ E.E.
