Mine is learning to look up to the loft bed window
but only because I bark at him for barking.

What an interesting and educational post.  It has made me realize that I need to search out a few things.  Son asked me a question about the vision of birds and I just kind of let it pass because I didn't know the answer.  Also, I need to check out a few things about dogs and their loss of hearing when they are old.  Son's dog Rocky acted very vicious to little Megan one day when she got in his face.  I think he didn't hear her coming.  It scared us all to death and she cried for quite sometime even though he didn't bite her.

Not only do you have your opinions and are a well-read, educated man, you can also tell a delightful story.  Looking forward to what Jag does next....

quite the study here Naut...and reminds me of a scene where my Chett (Boston pup) paced the fence line while this huge wild creek cat was ready to pounce on him from atop the fence line.  Chett was going bonkers trying to find the culprit --- I hurried him inside realizing he'd be beat from that wild cat.  Yes, he never looked up...but he will eyeball me as you say.  They all do in my pack - as if searching ~ Good blog note.  Good to read you too. I find it fascinating how animals have evolved. The capability to develop is amazing to say the least.

Jag does what he needs to do to make it through this world, and
to guide his master through the necessary paths. As for looking up, I've often stood on a third or fourth floor balcony and noticed how few people look above their heads. They waddle and stride and get from place to place, unaware of the universe around them.
