have to wonder that the jocks haven't got it figured out...
Why don't they save the reporters having to ask the inevitable dumb question, and come at them like frenzied apes, yelling, "I feel great, I feel jubilant and heroic! I am soooo happy I'm gonna get laid tonight!" And so forth.

Thanks for the response, Bill.
Regardless of the motive, I still think that the reporter asked a very stupid question, and that the coach responded accordingly. But like I wrote, most of the questions the sports reporters ask are stupid, pointless and basically obvious anyway.
