They shouldn't look at you like you are strange, and it takes a bit for the light to go off. Look in your manual :)

I have tried that, I have had that happen before and when you go to the dealer they look at you like you are strange when you tell them that

You need a car mechanic like I've got. My Son #3 stumbled upon him one day when he had just opened his business not far from here. They became very good friends and then it became a family thing. He fixed Sis's car and she began helping out with their old mother, taking her shopping, to the doctor, out to eat, such like that. Then he started taking care of my car for free except for parts because I am son's mother and Sis's sis. Son does some work for him when he needs it and he reciprocates. It is a lot of fun.

Halfway down the page....also not that you can disconnect the battery for five minutes to reset the light...I did not know that.

Is your gas cap screwed on all the way? I had the same problem...
...and that is all it was. There was a little icon beside the gas cap that I hadn't paid attention to before. Anyway, it has to click once or twice. Seriously....

Of course, the problem never duplicates when one takes it into the mechanic, lol. The place you took it to, is this your regular service shop? It's always important to have someone you trust when it comes to car issues.

I'm clueless as far as cars are concerned. I generally turn up the radio and hope all nasty noises go away. Hope it sorts itself out for you.

Those who checked don't know. There is something wrong with your car it appears. When i jump and spit George sits me down and tells me what is wrong with me, you need a car George.

What a mess! I haven't a clue as to what it could be other than maybe some bad gas or moisture in the tank! Perhaps a bottle of dry gas will make a difference on the sputtering! sam
