Re: Justi
My daughter does well when she is incarcerated. There is a structure there that she seems unable to provide herself on the outside. Also, she is off the pills and thinks clearly now. She works in the laundry and is tutoring other inmates who are studying for their GED. She also attends every Bible study that is offered by those ministering in jails. Sad that I have such good things to report when she is in jail and find it difficult to find anything positive about her behavior when she is out.

Re: Gypsy Butterfly
My husband was raised by his grandparents as well. Looking back after all these years, he feels it was a blessing and realizes he would not be the same person without their loving guidance. Thank you for sharing your story, I find it encouraging.

Such a good report on the grands. You have your hands full but sounds like you are doing a great job as is the father of the children. How is the Mom? Do we have an update or am I stepping on private ground? If so I apologize. Be blessed dear lady!

Thanks for sharing about your grandkids. It sounds like they're coming along nicely. May they continue to make good progress. I was raised by my paternal grandma & very thankful for it.

I went back and read the story...
and I understand your concern for Tela and Ari.  I recommend to you the site of Pete Walker, a psychologist whose expertise is in childhood abandonment issues. It may be you will pick up some pointers to nip in the bud the terrible effects of abandonment, emotional and physical, on a child's life and self-esteem.
