I'm vaguely familiar with that case, but certainly haven't followed the media's extensive coverage of it. But even if it was and is extensive, I'm not quite as pessimistic as you seem to be. Even in Florida I'm sure they'll find twelve people who will not have been swayed by the media's tasteless prattles and decide the case on the basis of the evidence presented in court...

I think its because they think no one can disagree.
It's a party on the band wagon and they are milking it and poking it for more...
Personally, I think names should not hit the news until a case is decided.
Bells, as everyone knows, cannot be unrung.
