When I was manic one time... still working for the City of Los Angeles...
I wrote on my shirt with a magic marker... I'M HUNGRY and I'M THIRSTY... some REALLY little kid thought I was a comedian and laughed his ass off pointing at me... some middle schooler gave me some coins... not sure what prompted me to do that... psychiatric illness me thinks!...

I think one just needs to ACCEPT that this sort of thing exists in the world and people are going to be okay... yet it IS the kids you feel sorry for...

There are millions of folks who are out of work in our country. I don't know if they make a good living or not, but how good could it be out begging. I just fallow the promptings of my heart as to if I give or not. There was a lady and her husband with signs saying they needed $$ to get back to Oregon. I had a feeling to give her some money but all I had was a five. A few minutes after that she got hit by a drunk and killed. I can't help but think if I would have gave her the five as I was prompted she would be fine now. I can't even remember what I did with that five, or how I spent it...but I will always remember what I didn't do with it. Good post.

My husband & I are struggling ourselves & have been close to being out on the street. We do have family, that, we hope would take us in, if need be. Some people don't have that option. Even though we have our own difficulties, we will still donate. We don't think about what the money will be used for. We just give & pray. As the saying goes, but for the grace of God go I. I believe the reason we're here is to help each other get through this thing called life.
