Sinome, for every two inches of gain, there is an inch and a half of loss.
But there are, sometimes, those gains.
But with him, I don't count on much change for the better. So I deal with the outer man, and appreciate the inner one, and mourn that the inner man is so trapped in his own snares. I stay safely back, and go on caring, because that is all he can receive from me, and that only on his good days.
I seem to collect wounded souls who won't be helped.

Yes, Troosha... because when he was sober and his brain chemistry
wasn't out of whack, he gave me something precious: he made me feel loved. But I also had to learn that the lines had to be drawn and maintained.
The first good news that came after realizing he is an alcoholic was that I didn't have to stop loving him, I just had to stop letting him hurt me.

Hate to say this to you my friend but in my experience... "guitar men" do not change ... they are great in our soul's resume though... and always a good place to go to when life seems to devoid of that "humph" they seem to be so full of. Be well sweet friend xoxoxo

I remember previous posts about "Guitar Guy".... you certainly have a soft spot in your heart for him. I have a "Guitar Guy" in my life but a few years ago learned how to draw some lines in the sand and I've stuck to them. (Not that I'm suggesting you do so).

It's raining here to. I just went outside to walk around because I thought it was just lightly coming down. It's not light at all and I came back in wet all over and had to leave my soaked shoes outside the door--puddles you know. It was fun walking around in the wet dark. LOL
