And I came back to tell you thank you and a Happy week end to you and yours, including Max. How is he? You have not written on him in too long a time.

There are bases still in Turkey....Greece threw the USA out years ago
and I know that our allies don't want to lose that base too. I have no idea how anyone can can handle international policy. Porbably relax back, watch the hockey and sip that Scotch.

Turkey has been a thorn in the side of many for years! Again, as for my country, the dems are weak in foreign policy and have been as long as I can remember! It seems at times it is easier to look the other way than to face a problem head on! I often think about Clinton's lack of action in the Cole incident has led to the dems not understanding the ramifications in anything for that matter! Shelly

It amazes me how people overlook the cruelty of this religion. This is my favorite line because it together will massive ignorance tends to put it all into perspective:

We are caught on the horns of a dilemma: the paradox of tolerance Popper spoke of, when he concluded that to tolerate the intolerant leads inevitably to the end of tolerance…

As to the glass of scotch in a martini glass i would not know but I had a cat once who loved a couple sips of scotch and water nightly. Never complained what it was given to him in, but I think it was always a scotch glass and he sat up straight on the sofa for it.

I do feel that political correctness has harmed many a discussion a great deal...

LOL - Thank you, Naut. And I tend to agree with you. No one culture or religion, although it has been tried, has conquered the whole world yet. Humans are just not made that way. As for the scotch - I don't mind a martini glass...hey, if the timing's right, even a coffee mug will do

Delusional? Which? A culture's decline, the doom, or the sense of defiance?

Could you share that scotch, please.
