Re: My mother was a medical secretary/telephone operator, and I thought
she was the cleverest person in the world, the way she could type so fast/poke that switchboard. She never got beyond eighth grade but had a sixth sense for spelling the most difficult medical terms. I laughed to read your clay-pigeon idea - the force and energy were there! - Bob

Before manual t/w came along, people would have thought you were talking about `horse and cart!` At least
you had foresight, if not a steady hand Bob. I used a `Little Brother` for years. They`d make great clay pigeon
launchers.

Jeez! Did everybody here START with a computer, and not with a
manual typewriter that needed to be shifted by a secretary who might at the same time be drinking a cup of coffee???

Re: I am not sure...do you have peripheral vision problems.

Re: duffer - No you're not - remember the old manual typewriters
(i.e. Underwoods) and how hitting the return arm would throw (" sling") the carriage/platen thing to the
right? I do. I used to be a secretary, and later a teacher.
