I'm really sorry for ANY kind of abuse that ANYBODY suffers! One kind is no more important than another in my opinion. I didn't realize how much I'd been beaten down and abused in other ways by my kids Dad until way later. I used to sing in the church choir, a lot of solos too. I was asked to sing solos a lot! My kids' Dad told me I couldn't sing anything other than Church music. He played the guitar and sang. My hubby now has made C D's of me singing of which family members and friends fight over...........that's just one example. I don't know WHY some people have a need to BEAT OTHERS DOWN mentally OR physically but I do know NOW that it's THEIR problem...........not ours..............my dear daughter made sure that Her Dad HEARD the last CD I made and asked him " I thought you said mom couldn't sing?" LOL
I'm sorry to hear that you are estranged from your mother but sometimes it's just BETTER that way and NOBODY gets to choose it but YOU! thanks for reading my blog! And, I'm so glad that you were able to forgive her! Lack of forgiveness is HARDEST on the person withholding it, I believe.

By sharing your experiences, it helps you to heal & allows others to be able to open up. I never went through sexual abuse. However, I did have a mother who was verbally, emotionally & at times, physically abusive. My parents have been divorced for 22 years. She's no longer in the family's life. I did forgive her, long ago.
