I hate this faceless
couldn't-care-less approach, especially when they forget that you pay their wages. Perhaps they haven't noticed the recession outside the window?

Well my husband uses Ubuntu as well. That wasn't very nice of them not to tell you until you rang up. I guess you must be connected by now though. Hope your editing of your novel is all going well. :)

WEll R.R I am with BT and my internet was just crawling along. I got so fed up I sent an email and said to the effect your hamster thats runs my system is so slow I think it is dying.

I had an almost immediate response a new router and was fired up really fast within two days.

Not exactly imbued with a service ethic are they?
How annoying. That approach must have cost money to clients who rely on the internet for business.

R.R...the telecom companies have a lock on the internet...
and you could say that almost literally...they call the shots and leave us to mumble and grumble (or worse)....

That's so horrible, and yes, you were polite. lol
I would have been hysterical.
Kinda makes me wonder how we all survived "before" the internet.

Thanks for your kind comment.  Afzal and I do like to "share the love" ... hopefully it will spread around.

I have had no internet now for a week and the why is unknown
I'm finally on at work so I can take a quick peek and write more.  I called to have my internet fixed and I ended up with no phone service now also.

So difficult it is when the Internet does not work. I'm glad to see you back online.

You want me to go after them, you know I am good at it

It is disconcerting to lose our connections!
As corporations grow bigger and hungrier, things like intelligent business practices and customer care are lost in the underbelly..:) Monopolies make this not a big deal, paid off politicians enable. Well, how it goes here, unfortunately. My telecom has little to no viable competition and can do pretty well what they chose or not without repercussion....
Keep on, RockingR!

I would not be impressed... if they continue to irritate you I can recommend a rather good ISP....
