Ones self-image is a difficult thing to balance.
It seems one levels off at too high or too low, and both cause us pain.

aaaah  thank you, I misinterpreted slightly.  One only has to read your poems to determine that you are not ordinary

who can prepare for fire and colour wrapped in a silken robe?
C.C., the answer is no one...its not that you're unworthy at all...maybe unsuspecting but not unworthy.....

This feels very deep and somehow a touch jaded and disillusioned.  Brilliantly written but I'd disagree - I have never yet met an ordinary person

Self-image...now that’s a touchy subject.  We are our harshest critic; am I good enough, could I have done it better, could I have done it differently, of course, but that moment has past like a scorched teardrop that  evaporates before you can feel it escape down your cheek.  We are all worthy and you my friend are no ordinary.

I wonder about the innocence of it all and as with the ending we ponder our worth! It is a fine poem with many nuances creating food for thought for I could take it to my own experiences and then ponder what may have been or what could have been done differently! sam

I totally agree with UtahJay... You are certainly not unworthy and she does not sound common or ordinary... Love is what it is my friend .  Great poem  xoxoxo

Oh CC I cannot see her as ordinary, nor you Sir as unworthy. Anyone who can write as lovely a poem as this, is certainly not unworthy.
