Re I didn't know that! So I guess he must have written about a wild
species, judging from his poem.  And they're rare now?  Now that's sad, to think that people can't get startled and charmed the way he was!  We had an eighth grade teacher, Sister Regis, who made us memorize snatches of poetry. One of them was Wordsworth's daffodil poem, "I wandered lonely as a cloud..."  Then there was Sir Walter Scott's "Oh, young Lochinvar has come out of the west...".  On a lower note was "Giuseppe the barber, he's gotta the cash,/ He's gotta the bigga, the blacka moustache..." She was a character, a good teacher who loved to teach us stuff!  I always dreamed of going to England and  seeing Stokes Poges, the Lake District - and the daffodils.
Well, two out of three won't be bad.

Re: I love this!! I posted some yellow daffodils in my art blog this week.
They do have a unique quality - pretty but somehow awkward and enthusiastic,  pointing in all directions as if
looking around at a new world!  - Bob
