Thank you for sharing this.  I have a bit of trouble keeping the whole mess straight in my mind on a day-to-day basis.  Where our country is concerned here, the "without a clear goal" aspect of this is particularly bothersome to me.

Reading all this, it seems pathetically obvious that there is no peace or liberty, only dangerous medivial quarreling and/or self-serving dictatorship, in whatever region the radical Muslins inhabit. So what is keeping the decision-makers of other countries from declaring this as unacceptable? Money? Fear?

I always learn something new and gain a better understanding from reading your reflections.  Thank you.

Looking at this it's amazing to see all the things that are going on in several places. I imagine that this is the tip of the iceberg as well.

By the time the truth is known of what the union leadership of the US (Richard Trumka) with the blessings of this radical government have done, even with the calibrations of google, with the burning of the Middle East, and the setting up of Israel...it will be too late.

"I urged Washington to show more reserve, letting others come and request assistance.

That’s what Obama, in his clumsy and ill prepared way, has done. The results will surely influence future US policy."

So are you saying that by your urging of Washington to show more reserve, President Obama wasn't listening to you when he pulled U.S. forces out of Lybia and letting NATO do the job? I think he did the right thing for America for once, they are already losing enough lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The constant bashing of President Obama has more to do with outright racism than charges that he is ill prepared and clumsy. The unemployment rate in the U.S. has fallen o 8.8% now so that isn't clumsy to me.

I believe President Obama is the weakest president we have ever had in foreign affairs! He at time, to me, seems to be clueless! It seems this country is never out of war; just flat out depressing! Shelly

Hi Naut - I didn't make it here last night but I see a pretty firm response to my defense of Israel's so called "nationalism" to which I say, "oh well."  I came here to write poetry and read Nautikos, but if I were inclined I'd say @)(*^$, or maybe something with pizazz.  Thanks for devoting a post to addressing my statements.  I didn't mean to suggest that I was in any way involved in dialogue toward establishing better Jewish/Muslim relations.  My activities are more of a social nature in a small community, and as you suggested, many of us are woefully misinformed about Islam. Most members are young adults who identify as Americans and who have tended to stray from their religious roots.  It is good for everyone to remain informed, though, so I do appreciate your research.  (I should also add that young adults here and there have a far different outlook, and this comes straight from one young person who has had a foot in both cultures for about 10 years).  Kudos on the humor in yesterday's entry.
