Since the death of my mother, all siblings (4 total, including myself) have disowned each other.  I believe in a close knit family and this was definitely not my choice.  At first, the coping was difficult, but you know, it's much more peaceful now, much much.  My family is the one I created, and we will always remain close.  I hope the rest find their respective ways, but I don't ever want to go back to the discord and tension.

I come from a large family, 9 children, and it is so hard to keep in touch as lives change! But, I do have a brother who lives close to me and it is great! sam

I have 4 sisters and 1 brother. I liked growing up in a big family, even though my sisters and I fought a lot. Now we are all really close, even though we don't see each other that much. I think it would be sad to be an only child.

Siblings, yes I had four brothers. During the day we would all go our separate ways into surrounding country

side, and only gather at meal times when the conversation was limited to growls and grumbles about who had

the most on their plates!

I was an only child with 12 brothers and sisters, all half five were my mothers and 7 my faters. None lived with us and I have always longed for a brother or a sister...being an only child sucks.

it has to be lonely to be the only child, I had one brother but we dont even talk, because of the way he treated me when our mom was sick

Annicita, I basically grew up an only child...
My sibs were all so much older than me, they were out of the house and married...I often wish I'd had a younger Brother or sister.....

Re:
I wish I could say the same about my sister. She was four years older than me. We had turbulent times and never quite understood each other..........................

This is a great subject and it needed to be written about. I am an only child and I wanted six children. I divorced and remarried much later in the children's lives now all our children have only a single child each. I wonder what that says about us. Keep writing you do it well.
