Some allow that, but there may be a longer waiting period than if you got laid off.  Also, here (Washington State) they don't just let you collect U.I. you have to do job searches, seminars and all kinds of hoops.  Seems they want a person to work.  It seems incorrect to call in unemployment, it should be job search stipend, or something like that.

How rude this company is......I don't shop there any more...it is my way of
protesting on your behalf.....I am loyal that way and that firm could think a bit about loyalty themselves.

wow that bites! are you just starting? Sometimes they do that when you first start. Try to think of it, as they want you yo get better than you are! You might learn some few tricks on how to do it. I was in customer service for 7 years straight. It has it ups and downs.
