I want to send my smile as well to join yours and Naut's... for a  spirit like yours is something to smile about.  Being where you are,  I know there is nothing that moves  us and paralyzes us as much as the situation you find yourself in and my heart goes out to yours... Stay strong and don't worry... when the time is right,  you will find the  way to have that conversation with him.  Both of you will be in my thoughts and prayers... Be well  xoxoxo

It is always difficult for me to find the right words in situations like this - nothing ever seems adequate!  But my thoughts go out to him and to you, and I'll send along a smile as well...

Hugs are good too and I am sending you heaps of them right now.
When you have that talk and when you find out the results I will be still sending hugs.

I would imagine distractions and procrastination comes with the territory.  I'm sure you'll get yourself "centred" and have the conversation as difficult as that will be for both of you.

Oh yes, the hospitals are not a fun place to be for the reasons you mentioned though in my case the language barrier does not apply...Hockey is a great way to get one's mind off of things.

Whatever else happens, your brother's got guts. I have no idea
how difficult this has been for you, or for him, but there's no doubt that your being there has made the situation just a little better. So I'm praying for courage and resolve for both of you. :)pat

After I read your post I had to go away from my computer to reflect on all you had said; it's so hard to face terminal! No matter how much we try to prepare it does end in procrastination for it is so difficult to face! I thought about Bird, what he's facing with and has faced throughout this illness, how difficult it must be to fight the good fight and then the eventuality of it all! I desperately want it to be treatable, for both your sakes. I know how important he is to you and this is not the time to lose him. And then I thought of how hard it has to be on him mentally and physically; how he has to come to terms with it all! Yes indeed, procrastination is the operative word. One thing I do know is that if I were ill like Bird is, there is no other person in the world I would by side than you; even in the worst of times you are comforting and optimistic and that would see me through it all as you will do for your brother. I will be praying for Bird and for you, it's never easy! Your smile with the close of your posts gives me strength in my own personal trials and when I am down I think of you and your encouragement to move forward with a smile and it carries me through another day! You are one of the finest people I have had the pleasure of knowing and I treasure you immensely! You have great internal strength and I admire that! I'm glad we have the next two nights of hockey; it will be good for both of us my friend! Now, in spite of it all I am going to leave with a smile and thank you for making my life a little better each day! sam
