Re:Thanks, Juliah, it was a rich topic, especially the part in parentheses

And I agree about the things that inspire us to write, and how therapeutic it is, absolutely.

You certainly kept your humor through all of that (I laughed when I read it).  When my mom was ill many years ago she had similar experiences with the condescending nature of care staff.  Those little terms of endearment are not appreciated. Thumbs up on your recovery! Hope you are both getting a little more rest tonight.

Thanks, John, but I'm sure you know what it's like: you don't
look for chances to be tough - they find you (and you're not always ready).  But I tell you, writing poems is a great way to salvage what's left!  - Bob

My goodness Bob, how clear and courageous your poems are under such trying circumstance. Push that

barrow, wield that pen.!! John.

Re: I can imagine how difficult it must be...your poetry is freedom!
Ariala, yes, freedom was on my mind.  And finally getting it down on paper is a kind of liberation, too. - Bob

Re: Re: Annicita, there's nothing like irritation or discomfort to
oops, provoke poetry.  Boredom helps, too.  I suspect that joy and love are overrated in that regard - too much else going on then  for me to worry about words. Thanks for your visit! - Bob

Re: Well, at least you had mints! All I had was noxious soup -everything
else on the tray was, well, questionable. - Bob

Re: Adnohr, I think that all-inclusive "we" is more off-putting than
those asses realize.

Re: I think hospital dieticians plan it that way, a sort of
"ejection therapy" to move you out.  My oncologist says I set a record - walking the next day after surgery and back home two days later.  Their recipe for beef barley soup should be declared toxic.  - Bob

I had an American Customs officer use the same expression, as in 'And how do we know each other?'. I didn't realize he meant the friend who was traveling with me, so I replied 'We don't!'. Put his nose out of joint...he was an arrogant ass after that exchange. As usual, you have so aptly described the despair and frustration one feels in you situation, and with very few words. Brilliant.

It sounds to me like all hospitals are the same...maybe they make them like that so we want to get out. Thank you for your comment...I had no idea anyone cared so.
