It is good to be in a union as sometimes you get to win and get extra $ if companies are found to be wrong in some of their policies Lustor. Most companies more often than not prefer not being unionised for obvious reasons.

Unions one can see how low paid employees across the world were in need of help to get a fair deal for a decent way of life....in many cases. O f course if you look at some situations, was it Hershy chocolate? the workers were all part of a town, of family with housing and schools and doctors provided by the owners.
Many people who had big estates took care of their retired servants and retainers, cared for them for life.....many people are great at sharing their wealth ....but there is the other side that you are writing from as well.
Trouble is, Unions in general became powerful and out of control and if a Union demands so much ...as they often do....they send the owners broke and no one wins in the end...some Unions have huge amounts of money which brings power and they have lost touch with the people they are meant to represent.
Sorry I have gone on too long.
