I just now read this and the post before it.  You know, little children do not always play and have fun and games.  They have anxieties and problems and sadness like adults only on a different scale.  So many things they don't understand.  God bless the beasts and the children.

More is revealed about the speaker's past in this poem. The speaker has had a difficult life.

wow, that's amazing! scary thing for a child to experience and endure,
whether they understand or not, it is forever imprinted.

I have no comprehension
of how or why someone would hurt a child - either mentally or physically

THOUGH CHILDHOOD MEMORIES SHOULD BE SWEET, IT IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE, SHAME ON ANYONE WHO HURTS A LITTLE ONE.

Re: CHIFFCHAFF
Thank you Bill I just thought we had a long gritty uneven road and to run and fall meant embedded grit into one's flesh goodness we would need antibiotics today.

At the age of two, the fear instilled by an adult can be very real CC.

Sometimes adults do terrible things to little children ...they should
remember that little children grow up. A thought a word and anyway all two-three year old boys are full of energy and eager to try almost everything.

What a scary thought, and perhaps a plot for some late night movie, or but a page in a book. Great work.
