PLEA FOR YOUR OPINIONS
The only union I care about is the one I have with Kate, having seen the one's in the workplace fail time and time again. What begin as a protection against hazardous and intolerable working conditions, the unions have now become the very thing for which they were formed to protect the working people against. Joab

I heard...
That union representation is way down, no where near what it used to be.  Even so, my son had to join a union to work for the state (Washington) at a community college and that is supposed to be illegal.  The trouble with unions is the people at the top needing desparately to keep thier jobs, same as government.  Common sense lies bloodied by the footsteps of the lobbyists.

My biological father was pro union and I believe he engaged in illegal activity trying to shut down companies that were not union! He put a sour taste in my mouth as a youngster and I vowed I would never join one and I never have! I have seen good and bad with unions, but of late they seem to be power mongers and nothing less! sam

Re:
It is not the enemy out there but the enemy within. This is a good word. I will go read yours too. I am concerned with yours and as many as are concerned for the safety of this country.

This is what I blogged about in my Original Intent blog. What scares me is that before this mess in Egypt took place Trumka was all over that country, and those that are still protesting over there are the unions. I get a bad feeling that something is up. When you look at the President he seems to have no fear, or worry in his expression...just smugness, but it doesn't seem like folks here are worried about it at all. Does the whole country have there heads in the sand? Is there anyone awake out there? I just don't know Justi, it is a bad situation.

Re:
A compromise can be made through government and citizen communication without union I do believe. Thank you so much for responding.

I believe that unions time has come and gone.  As you said they are now nothing but "mafias" that bleed their constituents out of dues that are supposed to pay for services said constituents would get anyway and with less hassle if there were no unions.  There was a time when unions where good and needed to fight for the workers rights, but now a days they have outlived their usefulness and become a burden that the owners of business do not want to deal with nor do they have to, because they can find cheaper and more docile labor overseas.  Everything good comes to an end sooner or later and without disrespecting those union leaders that did so much to turn the American work force into what it is today, I say unions should be eradicated and outlawed.  That is my humble opinion.  xoxoxo

Darling...if I had to make a wager against the USA v Greece..........

I'll make my money on the USA..........but I musn't start on poor old Greece where the people are rich and the country poor.

But I am wondering if the Union here in the States is going too far and will lose real support with this. Time will tell......but truly I shouldn't be commenting because I just don't know.

Here's to hoping that a compromise can be met.
